Hey Peeps! Christmas and new year are around the corner. You simply cannot overlook the festive vibes when passing through the city and its streets with decors galore. Aren’t you excited about the upcoming festivities and want to look stylish for winter parties?
I have been avoiding lots of events because I hate to get ready in winters. But every now and then, you simply cannot avoid it. Then worrying sinks in – how to look stylish and glamorous in winter parties?
Use Thermal Underwears
If you stay in a city which is visited by a wave of cold wave and you feel the freezing temperatures biting on your skin, do not skip your thermal underwear. Especially if you have decided to wear skirt or dress in winter, use tights or thermal wears to keep your legs and thighs warm.
Shimmer or Sequin Dress is your best friend
Who says we can’t wear a dress during the cold months? You need to be particular about the dress and its thickness to feel warm underneath. Try wearing dark colours and heavy fabric dresses. LBDs would still save the day if you just choose a solid one.
I am wearing this beautiful shimmer dress by H&M I got last month. I had even worn it in a nightclub during my Bangkok trip. Unfortunately, I have lost those pictures due to memory card malfunction and couldn’t share the look I created.
Layer it up for a glamorous winter
You can be as creative as possible with layering. I stay in Bangalore which is blessed with a salubrious climate throughout the year and the mercury rarely dips below 14 degrees, even in the winters. So, a lightweight jacket or a knitted shrug is enough for us.
However, if you are from a different part of the country where you come across harsh winters, layer wisely. You can go for a lightweight sweater, leather jacket, trench coat or even an overcoat. I just wish I could use them to style my winter looks, however, I do not have any use for them in here.
In this look, I am wearing a plaid lightweight jacket by H&M.
Stockings or knee-high socks
Both stockings and knee-high socks are stylish and comfort in their own way. If you want to show some skin you can go with knee high socks otherwise I feel stockings are more comfortable yet you can flaunt those shapely legs in them during winters.
Boots are essential. Period.
I love wearing boots and the only good thing about winters (I hate wearing too many clothes) is that I can wear knee high boots. I have this pure leather boots which I rarely wear. When I need to look stylish for winter parties, boots are my go-to companion for a short dress.
Shimmer Beret to look stylish for winter
Honestly, I feel that this shimmer beret completes my look for a glamorous winter party. It adds a dash of retro chic to the overall look. If you have flowing tresses, I recommend you neatly tie your hair and then don a beret. Believe me, you won’t regret it!
Makeup & skin care tips for winter
Before you apply makeup, use moisturiser. Moisturising is must during winter
Smoky eyes look fab and you would not even risk smudging it on count of no sweat days
Wear dark colour lipstick, preferably satin finish. If you have chapped lips please avoid using matte lipsticks
Always moisturise your hand and feet too
Now it’s your turn to let me know the ways you dress up for warmth, keeping the glamour quotient high, for your winter parties.
Hey Peeps! Thank you so much for showering your love on my new hairdo and look. Since the time I got this haircut, I have been listening to so many rumours about me on ”Why did she decide to cut her hair?”. You could have asked me and I would have surely answered. If you know me, you know that I love pouring my heart out.
It’s true that a lot of things are going on in a woman’s mind when she decides to get her hair cut really short. Sometimes it can be a matter of choice. If you have known me since childhood or have seen any pics from that era, I was always a certified tomboy.
In my late teens, I got hooked on to all girly stuff right from dressing up to flowing tresses. Then came a time when I wanted to go for a change in my look. So many things came to my mind and after two years of dilemma, I finally got a blunt haircut for myself.
There were certain things going on in my mind, as with any other girl/woman and I feel I should point them out here.
Will she lose her appeal?
Yes, hair is the sexiest part of a woman and guys are crazy about it. So, many women fear that once they go for short hair people would lose interest in their looks. Being a fashion blogger that was my biggest fear. I have been to parlours so many times with this intention and repeatedly came back with coloured hair instead of a haircut. I used to feel I will not be able to carry many looks with short hair. And the fear never allowed me to bite the bullet.
Fear of negative vibes
Whenever we go through any change in our life, we get haters and negative energy around for sure. Like when I uploaded my first haircut on my Instagram profile, a girl immediately messaged me, “Why did you cut your long beautiful hair?” and I answered I always wanted to so finally got it done. I am sure she is not the only one who was curious to know this but many were. So, before you undergo such major changes, brace yourself to be bold to answer them all.
Cutting off your expectations of her
The haircut has always been a symbolism for a girl proclaiming the world “she is going to do whatever she wants to do.” The girl inside me fearlessly cuts her hair into the edgy style that I have always dreamed of. I was basically ridding myself on the rigid assumption granted upon me by society, friends and family.
So, the time has come where I want to create my own way. I have taken a step forward to the other side of my personality and ready to explore a new world that I didn’t know existed.
Cutting off the time needed for hair care
Yes, I have been struggling to maintain my hair since I got it coloured. Coloured hair looks so beautiful and with my hair texture, it was going so well. After few month I found it really time taking to maintain. Every morning used to start with giving lots of time to mirror and my hair. I have been going to salons to get rid of damages in my hair. I found a long-term solution. And it’s just my hair. It’ll grow back with time.
Cutting off beauty to tap into style
More than a cute and beautiful blogger I have always wanted to become a style blogger. The beauty industry always seeks for long and beautiful hair whereas a fashion industry thinks otherwise. Nothing radiates style like a fashion-forward, short hairdo. A true stylist is the one who can be more imaginative and create their own definition of beauty and style.
No doubt, beauty fades and style is everlasting.
Cutting off the fear
As I have mentioned above, I always wanted to look this way. I am surrounded by beautiful friends donning lovely hair. I have been cursed even after getting my hair trimmed that “Why do you keep experimenting with your hair?” Nobody bothers what I want to do with it including me. I always fear what will the society say and will I be able to take that.
So, I finally decided to cut off everything I was and be everything I want to be.
It empowers you
So the moment I got my hair cut done, I felt a new found confidence reflecting off my personality. I remember my first step out of the salon and I was rocking the short hair and couldn’t even realise how big deal it was. Other women who doubted my ability to pull it off acknowledged that they were wrong and “It looks so beautiful on me”.
Overall I am so glad I did that. My hair looks so happier and healthier than ever.
It isn’t a coincidence that my husband (Sid) and I went back to the beautiful country, Thailand, almost two years after our honeymoon in Krabi and Phuket. We were in love with the sights, accepting culture and its diverse cuisine. However, we wished to experience a different locale and thus we landed for a couples stay in Pattaya.
Pattaya for Couples?
Pattaya is essentially a laid-back resort town, a bit over 100 km away from the bustling metropolis of Bangkok. You could either hail a cab or hitch a bus ride from the north (Mo Chit) or the east (Ekamai) bus terminuses.
You must’ve heard over social media of Pattaya being a bachelor’s paradise and the sort, however, were buying into none of that, cemented by our past experience in Krabi and Phuket.
As a whole, Thailand presents you with multiple options. So, if you are looking for a world-class romantic resort for couples on the beach, so shall you get – at a price hard to match.
We did a bit of online research and zeroed in on Amari Ocean located right on the North Beach. And boy, were we glad that we settled on this romantic ocean view resort for a couples stay in Pattaya!
The Junior Suite Ocean View
We were greeted warmly by Khun Wanpen (AOP, SM) on arrival and then ushered into the “Junior Suite Ocean View”. I have already shared the video of the room on Instagram. My elation tells it all.
Don’t be misled by the “junior” tag. It was an expansive room with the entire front glass facade looking out to the North Beach until the famous PATTAYA signage over the hills. It even has a cosy sitting area tucked at the corner with the same breathtaking view.
We were so enamoured with the view, we stayed in the hotel to watch the sunset together sipping fine Sri Lankan tea. Oh yes! the feeling was like a Bollywood romantic movie and the best feeling ever. I will be coming up with a separate post lining out our escapades in the city.
Waking Up to a Breathtaking Vista
Just imagine waking up to the majestic view of ocean stretching out till the horizon and you would definitely want to book this room. Kid I not, when I say, I was sitting still on the bed for a while and absorbing it all for posterity.
We had a sumptuous breakfast fit for champs at the 3rd floor multi-cuisine restaurant. Their choice of meat and ingredients at the live egg counter is exquisite and you must try made to order eggs of your choice. Guess what, if you prefer to stick to familiar Indian cuisine, you would get options for breakfast as well.
Then we had to change the room and we were moving to the hotel’s biggest executive suite ocean view room. We got a call saying our room is ready and post that nobody disturbed or forced us to hasten. I enjoyed my bathtub shower and got ready to move.
The Executive Suite Ocean View for Honeymoon in Pattaya
I cannot thank Amari Ocean, Pattaya team for the best-personalised gift ever. The moment we entered the room it was decorated with red roses and on the bed, we found a small token of love from Amari Ocean Pattaya team, a photo frame and a personalised card.
I still wonder how did they manage to get our pre-wedding pictures. Ummm… FB, Twitter or Instagram or my blog may be. Loved the effort taken by the team to make the special day etched in our memories forever.
This honeymoon suite for couples in Pattaya is a mini apartment in itself. The first half was a drawing hall with a cushy sofa set, TV, dining table, a mini kitchen, restroom and an attached balcony. The other half comprised of a king-sized bed with an attached luxury bath (yes, in the room!), tv, multiple wardrobes, a study table and another balcony with a view of the North Beach.
The Horizon Lounge
The executive suites are on the 19th floor with restricted access for privileged guests and staff. Guests have access to snacks and soft drinks throughout the day at the exclusive Horizon Lounge.
Guests could also enjoy Happy Hours every evening, 5 to 7.30 p.m. with delectable bite-sized refreshments from across the world paired with a choice of wine and fine liquor.
In fact, you could even grab a quick breakfast at the Horizon Lounge in the morning hours. The spread is varied and decent, though not as lavish as the 3rd-floor restaurant.
The Mantra Restaurant
On the anniversary evening, the Amari team invited us to the premier Mantra restaurant. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have noticed me going live as I gave a live tour around the beautiful corners of the restaurant with the help of Khun Saneh (MO, F&B).
Before I forget, Mantra has an exclusive Indian counter manned by Chef Sridhar, dishing out fine Indian cuisine – along with Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Thai and other counters. We felt a rush of pride on seeing Indian food being given its deserved place among world cuisine.
The pan Asian dinner menu which is a 7-course meal paired with chosen wines was suggested to us. It costs THB 2,999 per person. I recommend it to couples looking for an experiential dinner in Pattaya and especially wine connoisseurs.
The restaurant has an enviable wine cellar with a healthy mix of classic and new age wines and yes, Thai wines (we made it a point to try one)! Khun Saneh, (MO, F&B) has designed the menu to present a well balanced and varied cuisine, highlighting the best of each region, with a twist.
The seventh course was a dessert wine paired with a subtle yet sinful Green Tea-ramisu (Did I mention twist!). Was it the perfect end to a fine dining experience – definitely!
Post dinner, the restaurant team presented us with an anniversary cake and flower bouquet – a well thought and touching gesture. I looked at my watch, it was 11.45 and that’s what I call a perfect timing. We cut the cake and came back to our hotel room with memories to last a lifetime.
I cannot thank Amari Ocean Pattaya for making each place and moment memorable for us on our anniversary and the days around it.
Do I recommend Amari Ocean for Couples Stay in Pattaya?
I definitely recommend it to couples, especially newlywed couples should definitely go on honeymoon to Pattaya and book at Amari Ocean view.
Which room do I prefer?
I loved both of them and would suggest you try both as each affords an experience of its own.
The Executive Room has its own charm being in the lap of luxury and access to the Horizon Lounge is icing on the cake. If you are looking out for a perfect stay with amazing drinks and food experience, opt for this one.
In case you have plans to explore the city during happy hours and would be okay without a sitting room with dining area, go for Junior Ocean view room.
Whichever room you select, I bet you won’t regret the decision of opting for Amari Ocean, Pattaya.
The Official Amari Ocean Website
We have tried our bit, however, are sure have missed to present many of the amazing experiences you can have as romantic couples in Pattaya at Amari Ocean.
Hey Peeps! Thank you for showing so much interest in my travel stories. Being consumed by wanderlust, I have a bag specific for travel which has most of my travel essentials in it. Also, I rely on a packing checklist for my trips to avoid any unpleasant surprise.
In this post, I will try to sort your travel essentials shopping to the maximum extent. Please note that it’s completely my personal requirement based and I feel it’s a must-have for all during a beach vacation or otherwise.
If you are particular about other products or your essentials are different from mine please do share in the comment below. It might help me or my readers.
Travel Essentials Carry On
Passport, Tickets & Visa
Undoubtedly the topmost items I check even before hailing a cab to the airport because rest can be bought if you have left out any.
Travel Size Toiletries
Many people skip this, as hotels or resorts stock few of them. I have sensitive skin and I prefer to carry along my tried and tested products.
Note: Most airlines allow liquids only up to 100ml housed in a clear package in your carry-on bag.
Medicines & Female Hygiene Products
If you on regular medication do not forget to carry your supplies. Apart from those you can carry regular Paracetamol (Tylenol), Digene, Sinarest, Anti-Diarrheal, etc. Also, you should carry all your female hygiene products such as tampons, napkins, panty liners, intimate wash etc. just in case.
Cosmetics and Skincare
I know we girls love makeup and it’s difficult for us to pick and choose. Give first preference to your skin care range as it’s more important to keep your skin hydrated and look healthy during the trip. You want to look good in pictures (*wink*).
In cosmetics, go for a BB or CC cream for your face. Ditch your foundation as it becomes really heavy for the face in humid climates. If possible, use loose powder over your sunscreen to avoid sweaty brow.
Bring along your makeup products like Kajal, eyeliner, lipstick etc. even if you are not a makeup person. It looks good in your memorable travel pics.
Note: If you have a palette consisting all your cosmetics. Just carry that. You don’t have to carry a huge chunk of makeup.
Selfie Stick or Mobile Gimbal
I miss the fact I was not carrying a selfie stick during my honeymoon and that’s the reason you don’ see our enough pics together. Never miss on that.
Books or Kindle
If you love reading and you are going to a resort or beach vacation nothing beats this feeling. I love to read by beachside while sipping my favourite wine.
I carry my cell phone, power bank, ear plugs, charger, camera, extra batteries for the camera, etc. on any trip for that matter.

Hey Peeps! It’s been almost a year since I went for a girls’ Goa trip with my girl, Madhu from levenstylo.com. Prior to that, my bachelorette party was the last girls only vacation I had planned.
After I got married, obviously priorities had changed and most of the outings were planned with a common ground in mind.
My bestie and I used to plan a trip with just us, over the phone (she is in Delhi and I am in Bangalore), but somehow the plan never materialised.
Then finally in January this year we put our foot down and agreed upon a trip in March in Goa. Isn’t it strange that it took us so long?
Why can’t girls go for trips together post marriage?
Why should you do a girls’ Goa trip?
We love doing similar things and no guy is there to judge or stop us.
You have loads of girl time. Do whatever you want – makeup, shopping, party or just chill in the swimming pool.
You don’t have to worry about letting your hair down. Goa is very safe for girls. Just be little cautious.
Fight your fear. If you are scared of heights or water, be each other’s strength for water rides.
Scooter becomes your best friend. A helmet is not mandatory around the beaches. You don’t have to bother about your hairdo going for a toss.
You can hog on a variety of authentic Goan, Konkani and Portuguese food.
If you have a skimpy outfit lying idle in your closet, Goa is the place in India to try it out.
Goa is a party paradise. You get world class discs like Club Cubana and LPK to party your heart out until wee hours.
For the shopaholic in us, Goa has flea markets, night markets scattered around popular beaches. We shopped like crazy till we dropped.
Having girl’s time on the beach. I still cherish those long walks over the beach and non-stop conversations.
Where to stay on a tour with girls in Goa?
The moment we decided to go far a girls trip, I was particular about where to stay. Since on my last trip to Goa, I had stayed in Vagator, now we chose the bustling Candolim. I love each part of Goa but we wanted to be in the midst of the action.
We stayed in a serviced apartment in Candolim as we wanted to have a homely feeling during our stay. The apartment was at the walkable distance from the beach and barely 1-2 Kms away from famous clubs like “Love Passion Karma” and “Sinq”.
Look around in Tripadvisor or Air BnB. You would find scores of well-maintained apartments with fully equipped kitchen around popular beaches.
What to wear in Goa?
The short answer is – whatever you feel like! As I have mentioned earlier, the beaches of Goa are probably the most accommodating places in India. Still, desist from making friends with strangers and look out for warning signals (Like a stranger offering to buy drinks. Thanks but no thanks, we can very well buy our own!)
Be it early part of the year or October to December period, the weather stays almost the same. Just if you are travelling to Goa in monsoon, it rains quite often and don’t forget to carry an umbrella. Maybe a few beach shacks close down, however, monsoon in Goa has a charm of its own.
Most importantly travel with panache and wear your confident smile.
So you lovely ladies out there, if you have been holding back your girls’ goa trip plan, the time is now to set the ball rolling. It’s a short life and live it to the hilt. Check my experience with my girl Madhu at Levenstylo.
Please do let me know your thoughts and if are up for a girls’ Goa vacation, tag me along!
